Terms of Use
Last updated: April 16, 2026
By using Lock, you agree to these terms. If you don't, you can simply uninstall the app.
1. Publisher
Lock is an Android app published from France. Contact: contact@lock-app.fr.
2. Purpose of the app
Lock is a self-discipline tool that lets you temporarily block access to Android apps of your choice, via a physical NFC tag. The service is entirely free, with no user account, no ads, and no in-app purchases.
3. License
Lock is made available for free via the Google Play Store. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your personal Android devices.
You agree not to:
- Decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
- Distribute or resell the app outside the Google Play Store
- Modify, adapt, or bypass the app's mechanisms
- Use the app for illegal purposes or to harm third parties
4. Responsible use
Lock is designed as a self-discipline tool. You are responsible for:
- The apps you choose to block
- Keeping your NFC tags safe
- Understanding and configuring the safety mechanisms (emergency unlocks, auto-timeout, grace period)
You always retain final control. The app can be uninstalled at any time like any other Android app. No mechanism prevents you from taking back control.
5. What Lock is not
Lock is not a parental control tool. It is not designed to restrict usage of a phone that is not yours. Installing or using Lock on someone else's phone without consent is entirely your responsibility.
6. Warranties and liability
Lock is provided "as is", with no express or implied warranty. The publisher does not guarantee that:
- The app will work without interruption or error
- It will be compatible with every phone model or every Android version
- It will block every possible bypass on your device
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher cannot be held liable for direct or indirect damages resulting from use or inability to use Lock, including loss of data, loss of productivity, or any other harm.
7. Intellectual property
The source code, design, the "Lock" name, and the app's visual identity are the exclusive property of Lock's publisher. The physical NFC tags used with Lock are standard third-party products (NTAG213/215/216) and are not provided by the publisher.
8. Data protection
Data collection and processing are detailed in the privacy policy. In short: Lock collects no data and contacts no server.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated occasionally. In case of a substantial change, notice may be given via the app or website. Changes take effect from the date they are published on this page.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or execution falls under the jurisdiction of French courts.
