Summary: Lock collects no data. Nothing is sent to a server, no account is created, no identifier is shared. Everything stays on your phone.
1. Who publishes this app
Lock is an Android app developed from France. For any question regarding data protection: contact@lock-app.fr.
2. Data we collect
None. Lock collects no usage information, no personal data, no device identifier, no advertising ID. The app contacts no server and sends nothing outside. No analytics, no third-party SDK, no ad network is integrated.
3. Data you create by using Lock
When you use Lock, the app stores locally on your phone:
- Your profile and session preferences (grace period, emergency unlocks, max duration)
- The list of apps you choose to block
- The identifiers of the NFC tags you pair
- Usage statistics (sessions, durations, streak)
This information stays only on your device. It never leaves your phone, is not backed up to the cloud, and is not accessible to the developer.
4. Exporting and deleting your data
You can at any time:
- Export your data in JSON format from the app settings (for example, to re-import on another device)
- Import a previous export file
- Uninstall Lock: all associated data is then removed from your phone by Android
No copy is kept anywhere else, since nothing is stored outside your phone.
5. Required Android permissions
Lock requests the following system permissions, strictly for its functioning. Each permission is used exclusively for the purpose described below.
Accessibility Service
Lock needs Android's Accessibility Service to detect when a blocked app is opening and display the blocking screen on top. This is the only use. Lock reads no content shown in other apps, captures no screens, and collects no data related to your activity in other apps. In line with Google Play Store requirements, this use is strictly limited to Lock's core functionality.
Display over other apps
Required to show the blocking screen on top of blocked apps, then return to the home screen.
Battery optimization (exemption)
Lock requests exemption from battery optimization so that Android does not interrupt the service in the background. Without this exemption, blocks could be bypassed by waiting for Android to put Lock to sleep.
NFC
Required to read paired NFC tags. Lock only accesses NFC upon your explicit action (pairing a tag, scanning to block or unblock).
6. No third-party sharing
Lock shares no data because Lock collects no data. No third party (analytics, advertising, crash reporting, attribution, etc.) has access to anything.
7. Security
Since your data is stored only on your device by Android, its security depends on your phone's security (screen lock, Android encryption enabled by default on recent versions). We have no server to protect, no database to secure, no possible leak on our side.
8. Children
Lock is not specifically intended for children under 13. Since no data is collected, the app poses no specific risk regarding data protection for minors.
9. Changes to this policy
In case of a change in Lock's operation that impacts this policy, this page will be updated with a new date at the top. As long as Lock runs 100% locally without a server, no substantial change is planned.
10. Your rights
Since no personal data is collected by Lock, the usual rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, opposition) apply to data stored locally on your phone, and are directly exercised by you through the app's functions (export, import, delete, uninstall).
11. Contact
For any question regarding this policy or data protection: contact@lock-app.fr.
